I'm confused. You're happy with RIM's handling of this current situation?
of course I wasn't happy - I onkly wanted to point out not to mix anonymous letters with server outage ....
I'm sure if RIM would have known what's the exact reason and how long it would take to repair they would have told this to us .... so I got some tweets from @BlackBerryDev and Forums post and was aware that they're working on it ...
I'm using also services from wordpress.com and assembla and at both hosting services it happened that there were outages and I also got only informations that they're working on it ....
same as a customer reports a bug and asks me "when will this be fixed ?" ... I understand that he/she wants to know this, but there are situations where I only can say "I'll investigate into this and as soon as I can get it ready or know how long it will take I'll let you know" .... and from time to time I'm posting info that I'm still working on this
so I understand the situation and think we should be fair with RIM
-----
on the other side there should be ongoing discussions if the signing process must really be remote and that RIM should have mirrors on other locations / countries as fallback for such an important service .... but again this shouldn't be mixed with the current situation
good that servers now are working (or trying to work ;-) .... and now I also know that I can ask this site for status
http://isthesigningserverdown.com/beta/
hopefully next hours all will be back to full success and hopefully RIM will work on better strategies to avoid these failures in future

Is it ok? why when I sign my program, error "The signature on the code signing request didn't verify. The likely cause of this problem is entering an incorrect CSK password."? I am sure the password is correct.

Ekke, it has taken me a while to digest your reply and I was originally going to ignore it, but given that you've made such an effort to place yourself in the firing line I shall give it my best shot to reply:
"I onkly wanted to point out not to mix anonymous letters with server outage"
Overlooking your criminally bad spelling of the word "only", I did not "mix" the "open letter to RIM" news with this current thread, I was merely making a point that if things are problematic inside RIM then the current signing server issue MAY be a symptom of that.
"I'm sure if RIM would have known what's the exact reason and how long it would take to repair they would have told this to us"
If RIM didn't know the exact reason for the outage, who did? Correct me if I'm wrong but RIM own the signing servers and they had their own engineers fix the problem. They made the choice NOT to communicate what was going on during the entire outage (4 days), and to continue to withold that information. Even now the issue has been resolved all we've got is some lame response from Mark Solm saying "Measures have been taken to prevent this issue from occurring again in the future.". I'm sorry Mark but that is a lame response when it comes to this massive outage.
Anyway, I digress, back to you ekke.
"so I got some tweets from @BlackBerryDev and Forums post and was aware that they're working on it"
So you (along with the rest of us) received some information that there was a problem (which you already knew) and that there were some people (none of which were named) who were working to on the issue (which we already knew). Perhaps you could elaborate on how this helped you to schedule your development, testing and deployment time.
"I'm using also services from wordpress.com and assembla and at both hosting services it happened that there were outages and I also got only informations that they're working on it ...."
So you use other services which have terrible communication, and somehow that justifies RIM's terrible communication? Please do explain how this is a logical argument.
I could go on but I fear that I may be entering the realms of pedantry.
