Simulator 4.0.0 messed up Chinese input

We just started using the 4.0.0 simulator (the only one says Chinese) in China and discovered that when we enter a contact in Chinese and sync it to a server the Chinese name is all messed up, going from server to simulator has the same result.

Any clue what might be causing this?  We have other similar Java tools for other devices and they all worked fine (using UTF-8 encoding).

Thanks.

Re: Simulator 4.0.0 messed up Chinese input

Are you synchronizing using a BlackBerry Enterrpise Server?  Are you seeing the same result on a real BlackBerry?

I also recommend using a newer version of BlackBerry handheld software.

Re: Simulator 4.0.0 messed up Chinese input

Sorry I did not provide enough details.  The synchronization was done with a syncML server.  All English contents are fine, just the Chinese that is messed up.  We will try with a newer version of the simulator.  I thought maybe there is a configuration of character set encoding somewhere that did not get set correctly.
