System wide Selection Menu

I am trying to implement a feature by which my application can pull data from anywhere a piece of text is selected.

I am trying to introduce a custome menu item to INSTANCE_CONTEXT_SELECTION for all the applications. E.g. Select some text in notes and the menu should so "Copy", "Paste" and "Send as mail" where the last one is my custom menu. This needs to appear anywhere (in any application) as soon as some text is placed into clipboard.

Is this possible?

Re: System wide Selection Menu

You can use ApplicationMenuItem and ApplicationMenuItemRepository to create a system" menu item that will appear on all (or most) applications.

You would then have to retreive the system clipboard instance when your menu item is selected, and retrieve the copied data.

How would you do this? would using selectionCopy() in the function take the text with it when it opens up your app?
