I and a few others have been working on some tutorials designed to bootstrap new BlackBerry Developers (rather than new Java developers) into BlackBerry java. Associated with this Post you should find a zip file that contains the first ten of these. These cover things like:
Persistence
Logging
Event Thread
Basic UI
How to design User Interfaces that work across multiple devices
Localization
The objective is that after reviewing these tutorials, the reader will know enough to create an application that works like a proper BB application and can display screens, retain configuration data, send support emails (including the application log) and so on.
The plan is that this is just Part 1, Part 2 will take the Part 1 project and extend it into something that looks like a real Application, And then in Part 3 we will extend this with the trickier things, like Networking, Location, BBM integration, App World integration and more.
Anyway, if you have a second or two please have a look at these and let me know what you think. If you are a new BlackBerry developer, even better!
But as I'm on holiday for the next two weeks, don't expect responses from me for a while!
Thanks for reading and have fun.
