This idea you told is another option. But this way is too tricky for me. By the way, using instance of Application is just enough in my case and it's way simpler for me.
I am running into a similar problem, but I can't seem to be able to get around it using an app descriptor. I think i is possible I am on instantiating it incorrectly or something. Would you be able to post the code of the solution?
