In case I'm not the only Mac user trying to create apps for the BlackBerry, I have started a little project to simplify development.
It's a maven archetype that creates a skeletal project and pulls together a few other tools to get everything together.
It uses MPowerPlayer as the emulator, and bb-ant-tools as a JDE replacement for building.
The archetype sets everything up and does all the magic to call bb-ant-tools, so it should allow you to use any IDE you want, and it also calls MPowerPlayer from a Java class, so you can use a debugger and step through your code, too.
If you're interested in using the Mac to develop for the BB, check it out - I'm looking for others to help out, so please join in the fun. :-)
