Writing an app to force a connection to my pre-configured wifi network

Hi Guys,

I need to write an application which has the ability of switching automatically between two WiFi networks (or access points) without notifying the user.

I didn't see any API which scans all the channels and reports the SSIDs.

It seems that all available APIs like .getAPInfo() are only working when you are already connected to a WiFi network, and that should be done by the blackberry pre-installed applications, through the setup menu.

Do you guys have any idea? Is it a limitation of access or I should be digging out more to get the answer?

My final question, if this is a limitation of access, all smartphones other than blackberry are like this and behave the same?

I appreciate your help a lot,

About 99% sure that you cannot select a WIFI network via code.

the WIFI connection via Java code will use the currently selected network inside BB options.
