alternative to imageScale32

I just tried to instal my application on of the companies BB model, a 8703e with 4.1 OS and found out that the method imageScale32 is not supported till 4.2, so is there an alternative for this methos. The splash screen image is going out of the screen and looks quite ugly that way. Loved how the imaged scaled down to fit on the screen and now, its just going offset

Also, updating the OS on those BB is not a option. Already tried what this tutorial showed

http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-8700-series-discussion/170507-latest-os-8700-4-5-0-174-4-5-0...

But it didn't worked, don't know why, and my service provider (Nextel) don't know anything about it

Re: alternative to imageScale32

updating the OS is an option, you just took the wrong firmware. 8703 is not an 8700.

take a look here:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/rim-software/110673-useful-latest-os-all-models.html

the latest OS for your bb is 4.2.1 which supports the required method.
