build immediately terminates; <terminated>

configuration: ant 1.7.1, eclipse 3.4.1, jde 4.7.0, jdk 1.6.0_11, winxpsp3

I am trying to run ant builds in eclipse using the configuration listed above.

Whenever I run an ant-target, I get the error message:

<terminated> MyApp build.xml [build.command] [Ant Build] C:\tools\Java\jdk1.6.0_11\bin\javaw.exe (July 2, 2009 9:29:47AM)

And nothing happens.

However, if i run run in a console window, everything works great.

Any ideas on what is going on here?

Eclipse may be trying to run the build using the blackberry jdk instead of the full  jdk.  In External Tools Configuration, select the ant task and go to the JRE tab and select a full JRE environment.

Re: build immediately terminates; <terminated>

do you mean the JRE tab?

I tried this: selected the JRE tab, selected the "Separate JRE:" radio button which was pointing to a RIM JRE, changed it to a full JDE environment, selected apply, tried to build again, and it worked!  voila!

I'm unclear how this is different though than main menu -> project -> properties ->  "Java Build Path" list item -> "Libraries" tab where I have the RIM JRE as the JRE system library.

Shouldn't I always be building against the RIM JRE libraries?

Re: build immediately terminates; <terminated>

What you changed was only the JRE that ant (being java based) runs under, not the JDK that you're actually compiling your code against.
