Please don't shout.
As you have seen, there is quite a lot of material regarding networking on this forum, it is a common problem.
There is not one solution that fits everyone. For some, the best solution is BIS_B and BES, but this is no good for streaming. A lot of people don't have Alliance membership so can't get BIS-B anyway (you have to ask for this). Other people try WiFi first and then have fall back to direct TCP. or WAP. This is especially useful for high volume transfer, but of course WiFi is not always there and some older devices don't even support it. And for some people, the carrier paln includes free internet so direct TCP is is OK, for others this is charged. And then of course you start talking about coporate Blackberry devices whose network options are tied down by their BES administrators.
So you can shout all you like, no one can provide you with the exact extension that will always work in your circumstances. It depends on at least the following:
a) Capability of device
b) Charging plan of carrier
c) Requirements of application, especially streaming and size
d) security access allowed for BES users
e) Alliance partnership or PUSH access for BIS-B
We can provide you with samples. Here are some
1) If you are developing for OS 5.0 and above, then download the Facebook SDK and look at the connection code in there.
2) If you are developing for pre OS 5.0 devices, then look at the code in here:
3) If you want to code that handles anything, then look here
There are loads more if you look around.
Hope this helps.

This seems to be a common theme.

From me? Yes.
Is this a bad thing?
Well I don't think so. For many reasons.
I really don't see the point of duplicating information. Doing so, just bloats the forum, and if if you get an answer, you only get the answer from the people who happen to be on the forum at the time.
But if you search, you can often get an instant answer, you will probably see a range of opinions, you will find options you have not considered and you will find answers to questions that you will store away for the future.
In this particular case, the OP could have found a link to the latest facebook sdk in less time than it took to write the post. Even typing "BlackBerry Facebook SDK" in Google will find it. If you would like to point other places I have suggested people search, I will justify these cases too.
I don't do it lightly. But writing and checking posts takes a while, I only have a limited amount if time and there are always posts on this forum that I don't get to that I think I could help with. So I think it is better that I make more time for problems where there is no previous solution, by responding with a quick entry urging the user to search. Overall it helps everyone.
At least I think so. Feel free to disagree. .

Oops, I meant people asking straight-forward, easily searchable, common questions before even trying to find the answer themselves.
I'm on your side! Sorry for the confusion.
