The installation of big files via OTA may cause problems with your browser. Some browsers (for example WAP-browsers) cannot deal with big cod files (also known as cod-files with sibling cod-files inside).

For OTA installation do the following:

Rename your big *.cod file to *.zip file and unzip it.

There will be several smaller *.cod files.

Place these smaller cod files with jad file (there is no need to change jad file) to the server.

It is not recommended to place big cod files for OTA installation, because in this case there are extra and useless connections to the server for every sibling cod file (located inside of big cod file).

Re: problem in OTA installation ????

yes i renamed my big 234 size cod file to .zip file , and when i extract i find

xyz-1.cod---->78KB

xyz-2.cod---->58kb

xyz-3.cod----->20kb

xyz.cod------->78kb

two sibling cod file also exceeds 64 kb here

(note : I cannot test this rite now , since the BB bold is not with me)

i usually get all these -1,-2,-3 cod file names in jad file , but i delete everything and keep xyz.cod alone

now wat i need to do ?

Re: problem in OTA installation ????

Actually 64 kb is not the limited.Actually I have forget the exact no.Just see cod will be exported or not.And further u don't need to extract the sibling code or for second time.And just upload this 4 cods on ur webserver along with jad file.

Re: problem in OTA installation ????

Just unzip your big cod file.

Sibling files bigger than 64 kb do not need to be unzipped. Leave them intact.

Delete your big renamed cod file.

Place all sibling cod files with one jad file to the server for OTA installation.

If you open JAD file for the big cod file in text editor - there are references to all sibling cod files.
