In reading through other posts, I understand that one of the methods for allowing an application to update itself is to invoke the browser and point to the jad file on a website for the update. I'm curious, though, whether the appllication has to be closed for the update to succeed in this case -- or is it acceptable that the application remains open while the browser performs the update ?
