start an app from a browser page

Is there any way to launch a third party application from a browser?

Such as having a link on the page and when clicked, it starts the application, or something similar.

Thanks

Not directly.  But you could create an httpfilter that is launched when the user accesses a specific domain.  Have a look at the httpfilterdemo included with the BlackBerry JDE for an example.

Re: start an app from a browser page

Is it possible to use JSR 211 (since JDE 4.3) such that clicking on a link to a specific mime-type will invoke the corresponding java application?
