Re: what is this device simulator error ?

Do the following:

1. Exit from JDE

2. Run clean.bat located in simulator directory and wait until it finished

3. Run JDE

It should help. If not - reinstall JDE and make sure you have full administrator rights on the computer.

And check that you're using the proper JRE and JDK version of your computer.

Java and JDE versions information is here

Re: what is this device simulator error ?

I experience the same error, but clean.bat didn't work for me. I have tried re-installing JDK and SQL server but none of it worked.

I have JDK 6 Update 20 installed. and sql express server 2005. I'm running a Win XP system.

the same combo worked on my vista

Re: what is this device simulator error ?

None of those worked for me either. Looking at the stack trace in the log file that it created (fledge.xml in failure.zip), it appeared to be failing in an OpenGL function. So I updated the driver for my old ATI card with the latest (Catalyst 10.2) and bingo!, it works now.
