500 Application author does not match debug token author

My name is Jean-Francois Geyelin. My application name is PewPew.

When trying to execute PewPew on a playbook, I get the error "500 Application author does not match debug token author.":

the command blackberry-deploy -installApp -password aaaa 192.168.1.37 -package Device-Debug/PewPew.bar returns:

Info: Sending request: Install
Info: Action: Install
Info: File size: 3575023
Info: Installing ...
Info: Processing 3575023 bytes
actual_dname::
actual_id::
actual_version::
result::failure 500 Application author does not match debug token author.

I did the following checks:

the command blackberry-nativepackager -listManifest PewPew.bar returns (among other things):

Package-Author: Jean-Francois Geyelin

Package-Author-Id: gYAAgPqb4i9DBQ-DjR0zWsAWK8s

the command blackberry-nativepackager -listManifest Library/Research\ In\ Motion/debugtoken1.bar returns (among other things):

Package-Author: Jean-Francois Geyelin
Package-Author-Id: gYAAgPqb4i9DBQ-DjR0zWsAWK8s

What else should I check and/or what is the problem?

Re: 500 Application author does not match debug token author

Problem solved by erasing and re-sending the debug token to the device.

Re: 500 Application author does not match debug token author

Jean-François, that would be explained by you having a different debug token actually installed when you did this. It obviously doesn't use the debug token on your hard drive, and it seems you must have had an earlier debug token built with a different author name at the time you tested this. Possible?

[ Edited ]

There are several reasons depend on my experience.

1.bar-descriptor.xml need a debug token.

2.Playbook under Securtiy/Development Mode should have a Debug Token.

3.Change QNK version to 1.1 version or 2.0 version. Sometime, your operating system has conflit to the version, you installed it.

4.Check Project/Properties/C/C++ Build/Setting/Tool Settings/QCC linker/Libraries should have bps, pps, screen, EGL, GLESv1_CM, png, freetype for playbook use. If you do not have these, please add these depend on project need.

Re: 500 Application author does not match debug token author

Yes that's what happened.

BTW, the reason I had 2 different names was that the first time something was going wrong because (I suspect) my name contains non-ASCII letters (Jean-François), and the letter in the xml was doubly encoded. Or maybe I was doing something else wrong... I'll never know :smileyhappy:

Re: 500 Application author does not match debug token author

That's possible. We've seen in the past that the MANIFEST.MF can contain non-ASCII characters, but I'm not sure it's documented anywhere what encoding it's considered to have (possibly UTF-8) or what is actually supported end-to-end by the tools. Best to avoid for now if possible, I suspect.
