Like I said, if you do not use camera_roll but you use fstream, then you can save in your app Sandbox, in write permission subfolder of course.

I just ended up saving the images to the /tmp folder since I use them all over and reference by filename. I could do the same thing with the straight byte array, but this method didn't involve dropping down the C++ which, while I don't mind doing it, I try to avoid if not necessary. In this case, I don't believe it was necessary.
