Any way to use the DateTimePicker for something not Date/Time related?

I would like to use a Picker for choosing a value that is neither a Date nor Time https://bdsc.webapps.blackberry.com/cascades/reference/bb__cascades__DateTimePicker.html

My use case would be for selecting an Interest rate, where the first column of the Picker would increment the whole number 0 to 99 and a second column to select the decimals 0.00 to 0.99.

The Picker seems like it would be the best bet for this, since a DropDown would be much less elegant way of doing it. Will the Picker be expanded to support non Date/Time values? Maybe it is possible now?

Thanks for your help.

Re: Any way to use the DateTimePicker for something not Date/Time related?

Hi there,

Unfortunately, the DateTimePicker in Cascades cannot be used for values other than Date & Time. As an alternative solution, you could make use of Sliders and display the value above given that there are many values to choose from in your specific application:

I would also recommend that you post a new feature request in the Issue Tracker but following the link below:

Re: Any way to use the DateTimePicker for something not Date/Time related?

Hi Martin,

I am also interested in a "Custom picker" in which you have a list of elements that are displayed and the user can pick one out. Let's say different OSs for example: "Windows 8", "Windows 7", "Linux", "Mac".

What I'm looking for is something similar to "TextSpinBoxField" in Java.

Is there a way to get this feature in Cascades?

Thank you very much indeed
