BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha & Cascades Example

I'm trying to run through the Create Your First App Cascades example with the just released BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha Simulator (running on Mac OS X 10.7.3) and am having problems getting the MyFirstApp to run (I'm at the Running the App section of this page: https://bdsc.webapps.blackberry.com/cascades/documentation/getting_started/first_app/lightning_cross... - I keep getting the error "Unable to start MyFirstApp due to error 8" on the simulator and "Unable to determine returned PID from launch" error from within the IDE. Has any one else encountered this problem?

thanks in advance

Simon

Re: BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha & Cascades Example

- Uninstall all version of your app
- Reboot playbook/simulator
- Install and launch again

And check your debug token again

Hi -

I had tried the steps you mentioned - and have just done so again multiple times. Still no joy. Has anyone managed to get this to work?

best regards

Please ensure that you're deploying the x86 target and not the ARM varient to the simulator.

Re: BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha & Cascades Example

Daryl -

Yup, that was it. Just went through the whole process __very__carefully__ (I'd probably been a little cavalier about it before) and noticed that my config was attempting to deploy and run the ARM version in the simulator. My bad. :smileysad:

Up and running - many thanks. Now if only I had a developer device.... :smileyhappy:

best regards
