Blackberry10 SDK installer on Windows 7 64-bit OS not getting installed ??

Hi,

I am trying to install the native Blackberry installer (installer-bbndk-BB10_0_04-win32-186-201204250810-201204251322.exe) on my Windows7 64-bit machine and it is showing me dialog saying :

" Please select another location to extract the installer to:"

I tried to change the folder location to C: and still it is not letting me install the installer.

Please suggest

Regards,

Divya

Have you tried running the install as admin? Right Click --> Run As Admin

If you try the 'Run as Administrator' and still get the same problem.  You could also try re-downloading the installer, incase it got corrupted.

I noticed that when I downloaded the installer the first 2 times firefox had reported the file as downloaded, when in fact the downloaded file was several MB smaller than the file should have been.  The files still executed but gave odd behavior as above.

See how that works for you.

As a test I tried installing to a non operating system drive, this worked fine.

Hmm, what if you only have one un-partitioned drive. This is odd behaviour, hopefully it gets fixed soon.

This isn't how it installed for me on Windows 7 64bit with one partition. The experiences installing above are not what I would consider typical.

Did you get asked to choose a temporary directory? That is where it gets stuck for me.

I don't recall, did you try running as admin? Are you able to specify where, or does it lock before you get a chance to choose?

Re: Blackberry10 SDK installer on Windows 7 64-bit OS not getting installed ??

Yes I tried it as admin.

I select a directory and it just returns to the install window asking me to select a directory - repeat ad-naseum.
