Bright Theme changed

Hi!

With the latest update for Q10, the Bright theme has turned grey instead of plain white.

Is it a bug?

Is it the new choice of bb10 designers (surely not because I haven't seen any reference in the release notes.)?

One told a solution to retrieve the colour:

http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Cascades-Development/Get-hex-values-of-current-theme/m-p/2316...

But I have big and plenty of jpeg image (lighter than png), based on a white background. So somebody knows if this is a definitive choice?

Thanks!

Re: Bright Theme changed

I have no information about BB's design plans or whether this is a definitive choice, but note that on the OLED screen that the Q10 has, the use of white could *very significantly* impact battery life, and it's worth considering carefully whether you really want to do that.

I did some preliminary measurements and posted them in a CrackBerry thread here: http://forums.crackberry.com/news-rumors-f40/dark-mode-coming-z10-787960/#post8208254

(I realize you're probably more interested in just knowing whether to try matching the new colour or not, but I thought I'd mention this anyway.)

Re: Bright Theme changed

Indeed, but often the client want a specific corporate style, which usually adapt to a dark or /(and more often) a white theme.

Secondly, when the design department is very precise, it is not straightforward (and so time and money consuming) to have a beautiful display in both dark and bright themes. We could have given a default theme for the app which the user may change if he prefers battery over beauty, but it is not possible.

Re: Bright Theme changed

I have noticed this as well, but it seems to only apply when using the bright theme on the Q10. Using the bright theme on the Z10 remains the same as it always has...
