Cannot deploy/transfet to tablet simulator

Hello,

I have built the FallingBlocks sample app and when doing "Run As.. -> Blackberry Tablet OS C/C++ Application" it comes up with the following error in a popup window:

Unable to connect to selected target: Connection failed: connect timed out

I have set the project to "Build Configuration > Set Active > Simulator". The target shows as "192.168.141.128" (the address that the sim gives me when I click on the "Development mode ON" icon). I can ping it from my PC just fine.

I have found on Google that the password was suppoed to be "playbook" and saved it to the target. Still not working (target shows as not connected). Went to the Setting of the PB, "Securuty" and set the password to "playbook". Didn't work either.

Help!

Re: Cannot deploy/transfet to tablet simulator

What OS are you running?  Are you using the 1.0.7 or 2.0 PlayBook simulator?  Are you able to browse from within the simulator?

Are you using a proxy or VPN connection?

Re: Cannot deploy/transfer to tablet simulator

Reboot the PlayBook simulator (Virtual Machine menu -> Power -> Reset), wait for it to fully restart and then try to connect to it again.  Be sure to verify that the IP address remained the same.

Note that by default, there is no longer any password set in the PlayBook simulator.

Re: Cannot deploy/transfer to tablet simulator

From cmd window on your host machine try following

telnet <IP-of-your-Simulator> 22

You should get something like this in response

SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_5.2 QNX_Secure_Shell-20090621-hpn13v6

This way you'll be sure that at least networking layer and sshd on Simulator work.

Re: Cannot deploy/transfer to tablet simulator

Got it working. Not sure of the solution, but I do have QNX 6.4.1 installed separately. I removed it from the path, restarted BB-IDE and that might have done the trick.
