Re: Change BBM invite message

As I said, http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Cascades-Development/Change-BBM-invite-message/m-p/2192713#M1...

If slashkyle adjusted his profile properly as described in a previous post, then it should become publicly visible as soon as they've triaged it.

slashkyle, can you please confirm that before you created that ticket, you had applied the changes I suggested in http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Cascades-Development/Change-BBM-invite-message/m-p/2192637#M1... ?

I'm going to report this issue (again) if you did indeed do that and yet the ticket still came out non-public.

Edit: never mind, I hadn't looked at the second page of messages when I typed that, and forgot you'd already confirmed it. Thanks.

Re: Change BBM invite message

yeah i submitted a different ticket a week earlier & it is still in triage so i don't see this one being cleared through any sooner

now we should all send in tickets to see tickets while in triage :smileywink:

Re: Change BBM invite message

Hehe, no need for that. I sent Erik Oros an email with some details after he offered to pass it along to the lead Jira fellow for examination.

Re: Change BBM invite message

Hello all. I've flipped the noted JIRA issue to be public:
https://www.blackberry.com/jira/browse/BBTEN-913

We're investigating whether the system is working as intended. For an issue to be public upon creation [they way it should work, is that]:
- You must set the Issue Visible To field to be Public.
- You must not set the Contains Confidential Info field.

I don't want to hijack this thread, but if we're seeing something different in reality, please feel free to email me (eoros@rim.com) with the specific cases and we'll look at those as well.

Re: Change BBM invite message

[ Edited ]

It's possible there's not a technical problem, but merely a documentation or usability one, but one thing that's interesting here is that we non-BB users do not see any "Issue Visible To" field, so if it's set private somehow, and not properly overridden by the our Reporter preferences, then maybe that's where the issue lies.

I created https://www.blackberry.com/jira/browse/BBTEN-934 to go with Erik's ticket above. We can see his (I checked)... can anyone outside BB see mine as well?

Re: Change BBM invite message

Confirmed that Issue Visible To is set to private. I'll escalate this to the JIRA development team; specifically that:

  • The Issue Visible To field is not visible to third-party developers; and
  • The default profile settings are not capable of overriding this value; thus
  • Third-party developers can not create cases that are public by default.

Does that sound about right?
