Create custom keyboard

Hi all,

 

Does anybody know how to create and set custom keyboard for a TextField??

You would need to create your own custom control and animate it on screen when the text control gains focus.

Currently it is not possible to add custom layouts to the virtualkeyboard class.

AFAIK there is no way to disable the keyboard, however it would be possible to control the signals emitted by your text controls and then hide the virtualkeyboard...

How satisfactory this will look I don't know (haven't tried :smileyhappy:) and of course the user will always have the ability to use a 2 finger swipe up from the bezel to bring up the keyboard.

yeah I know that but it shows the keyboard anyhow.

It's worth noting that even if you try and hide the keyboard, the user can still enter arbitrary text via a connected Bluetooth or USB keyboard, so don't count on it for data verification purposes.

 

I would generally encourage you to just use the built in keyboard that matches best.
