Re: Dev Alpha Crash

Can you be more precise about what "crash" means?

Generally that term refers to a situation where a program terminates abnormally, usually with a visible error or exception or core dump of some kind.

Most (all?) of us with the Alphas has certainly experienced a different problem frequently, where the touch screen stops responding and the device appears to be frozen.

Often this will happen at startup, and you'll need to reset or cycle power repeatedly (4-5 times) before you can get it to respond.

Is your "crash" merely a case of the device "locking up" like this? If so, I doubt there's anything you can do to improve the situation, except wait for the update.

I leave mine on all the time now (plugged in) simply to reduce the likelihood of this happening, though I'm not certain it does help.
