External data and text files and images for application

I want to use in the application a lot of text files with data and png images. How do I send these files to the tablet? And how can I get access to these files from application? How to specify the path to them? May be additional files can be sent to tablet during deployment of application?

Re: External data and text files and images for application

If you open your bar-descriptor.xml in the NDK and go to the "Assets" tab on the bottom you can add any resources you want to be packaged with your application there. They will end up in your "app" folder, which is read-only. More information about the folders your app has access to here.

Your app can then access them with the standard POSIX file APIs.
