How to check how many rows in the list?

How can I check (in QML) how many rows are in a particular ListView from outside of a ListView...

ListView { id: list1
}

Label {
text: "List1 has this many rows: " + list1.dataModel.childCount([])
}

 Above code always returns 0 irrespectively if there are items in the list or not.

Re: How to check how many rows in the list?

To some extent this should depend on the ListView and the type of DataModel chosen, but with a basic ArrayDataModel you can just use dataModel.size(). Also looks like that's the one for GroupDataModel too, but of course with filtering and headers and such, this isn't necessarily the full story. Depends what you want.

try list1.dataModel.childCount(0)

Re: How to check how many rows in the list?

Hi, Im having this problem as well. Need to get the number of rows in listview to determine the height of my listview so that it wont have infinite scroll while inside a scrollview.
