How to register for messaging events?

How would I register an application to recieve incoming message event notifications from BBM and email?

Thanks for your reply but I've read through that API and can find nothing related to receipt of incoming messages. It lists only the following events.

itemRemoved
iconRegistered
iconRetrieved
displayNameUpdated
personalMessageUpdated
statusUpdated
