JIRA problem

Some time ago I reported a bug about vibration intensity being ignored in newer firmware builds.

https://www.blackberry.com/jira/browse/BBTEN-719

It seems it was closed but wasn't fixed. I can't check the details because of JIRA problem.

When I open the page above I see issue description and then an error message follows:

An unknown error occurred - actions == null. Please see logs for more details.

Other issues open correctly. Can anyone from BlackBerry team check this please?

Re: JIRA problem

I have sent a note to the vendor to have a look.  Thank you for reporting.

Re: JIRA problem

Hi Mark,

It's still not working. I've also noticed that 'version' field is displayed incorrectly. Other issues open correctly though, so maybe it's only this issue which is broken.

Do you know is there any update related to this VibrationController bug? It's still not working on latest Z10 firmware. Or was the configuration disabled deliberately? (in which case I'll just remove the related functionality from my app)

Thanks!

Re: JIRA problem

This should be working in BlackBerry 10.1.  Are you still seeing issues after upgrading to 10.1?

Re: JIRA problem

Intensity is still ignored on OS Version 10.1.0.1720.

I'm using older SDK to compile (10.0.9.2372), but I believe SDK version shouldn't affect this?

Re: JIRA problem

Hello Zmey,

I tested OS Version 10.1.0.1720 on Dev Alpha B and SDK Version 10.0.10.261 and can confirm that the intensity sensor is functioning through the vibration_request(intensity,duration) call starting from intensity = 33.

Tested intensity range currently is between [33-100]

Curious to investigate further with you.  Are you obtaining the vibration events by first calling vibration_request_events(0) within your event handler?  Upon which you may also call vibration_is_supported() which returns a boolean that you may use in your logic flows.

Thanks,

William Hoang
