Re: Meet the BlackBerry Community App

Thanks Mark. That is actually useful, and yes, I can work around it for now by crafting my own HTML tags now that I know it should work.

One other thing. Several times now I've gotten the message "could not locate query path in XML data". Just had it happen when I tried to jump to the next page when there were actually no more posts. Last night I saw the message when trying to open what seems to be a "zombie " post. One of the threads was listed twice. The first one worked, but the second one displayed that message. I tried to do a screen cap of the duplicate entry but when I went back to the listing the second one was gone.

Re: Meet the BlackBerry Community App

"could not locate query path in XML data" means it got no or bad data back.

If you find any cases of these you can reproduce and/or grab a screenshot of, please send them to me through a private message.

Re: Meet the BlackBerry Community App

[ Edited ]

I can't actually reproduce either scenario at will since they depend on the contents of the forum itself. I do however have an idea why one of them is happening so I'll shoot you a private message.

In the meantime your earlier post about HTML tags got me wondering if using other tags might be a workaround to get text formatting. I'll give it a try here. I'll wrap a few words on the next line in strong tags. If the next line is bolded, then then it works. If you see the tags instead, it doesn't.

Is this bold text?

UPDATE: Ok, although I am adding this edit in the browser forum editor, everything before this line was posted from the Community App, so clearly at least some text formatting can be obtained by using regular HTML tags. Not so useful for the non-techy community at large, but it works for my needs until the app formally supports text styling.

Re: Meet the BlackBerry Community App

I would just like to point out that there is a solution for Facebook login.

Moderators here helped me out after I reached out.

You need to go into My Settings, Social Connect and disconnect your Facebook from community profile.

In which case you will be prompted to enter a new password that will be assigned to your community username.

After you do that, you are Facebook free and have a normal community account that can be used with the mobile app.

If you start the app, jump to Developer Forums tab, tap on Application Platforms, tap on Nativre Development, you will see Meet the BlackBerry Community App - Author: MSohm - Posted: Thu Jan 30 9:16pm.

But I want to see Last post: Fri 4 2:38pm to know that your post was the last one.
