Need to override Navigation Panes's back button onTriggered slot - BB 10

I am developing an application on BB 10. It seems that back button of Navigation Pane excutes popAndDelete() operation when it is triggered. Because of that I am not able to push the same page again on the Pane. I tried to override it using this piece of code:

paneProperties: NavigationPaneProperties {
backButton: ActionItem {
onTriggered: {

navigationPane.pop();

}
}
}

but it didn't work well. It works for first few attemps then its behaves the same. Is there any way to override it or do I have to make custom action item for that ?
