Hi

I am beginning to set up my enviroment for BB 10 development. It looks like I will need to request new keys for BB 10 development even though I have old keys I used for BB 4.x-7.x development - is that right? Will I have to request new keys? Do I need to uninstall the old ones somehow?

Yes you need new keys.  They are different and the signing process is not related.  So you can keep your old keys.
