Hi,

How it is possible to obtain UUID of my Black Berry device/Simulator using C++ code?

Thank you.

Re: Obtain UUID of my Black Berry Device/SImulator

What's your purpose for this information?

I ask because while there is no UUID, there is a PIN, a serial number, and possibly other information.

(You could say those are "universally unique ids" but UUID usually has a more specific meaning at this point, and the devices don't have one of those.)

Hello, I need something similar to CFUUIDCreate function for Apple, however for BB10. e.g., here: https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/CoreFoundation/Reference/CFUUIDRef/Reference/...

So, something like this? https://developer.blackberry.com/cascades/reference/quuid.html#createUuid

If that's not suitable, please explain your use for this, so a useful answer can be given.

Re: Obtain UUID of my Black Berry Device/SImulator

Typically on iOS the UUID is used for tracking app install/usage to a unique device (or to "whitelist" a specific device as a developer device/beta tester.

If the OPs intent is to track unique installs/use (I'll skip the privacy concerns for now) I'd like to believe the device PIN should be sufficient.

However as Peter noted if you have specific needs beyond that let us know.

Hi thanks, I think the QUuid suffices for now.
