Playbook Network I/O

Hi, I was considering developing under the Native SDK rather than the Adobe Air SDK but I am concerned about the functionality of the NDK in terms of support for network I/O (more specifically HTTP Request/Responses) even in terms of manipulating basic sockets.

Before I start development, I would like to know from those developing using the NDK, what functionality is provided in terms of network I/O either natively or through open source libraries. It seems as though RIM provides methods for checking whether a network connection exists so there should be some sort of support for network I/O. I noticed that a considerable amount of open source libraries are being ported over for the playbook such as Boost and QT which might support network I/O but they dont seem to be fully supported (the Boost source is non-exsistent and the ported QT source is only the core frameworks). Another possibility may be that some other library can be cross compiled to the QNX platform that supports some sort of network I/O.

Thank you for your help.

Re: Playbook Network I/O

Please search for BlackBerry NDK samples on github.

We have many samples up there including one called httpProxy which shows how to use bps to query bps for proxy information and pass that on to libcurl.
