Porting Java runtime (JRE/JDK) to PlayBook

Python runtime is natively included in PB, so why not Java ? OpenJDK source is here http://download.java.net/openjdk/jdk6/. Possible ?

Re: Porting Java runtime (JRE/JDK) to PlayBook

I took a crack at it when the NDK first came out and promptly got confused. Part of it is I never use makefiles, I always do managed builds and usually try to keep it that way. It seemed like it was possible but getting the runtime compiled is one thing, getting the VM is another. The normal VM is a mess of ASM which is x86/x64 and obviously won't work on ARM. IcedTea is a better way to go, but that two was a bunch of makefiles so I promptly skipped over it. I have some time so maybe I'll give it a go (though not tonight).
