SDK update problem on Ubuntu

I'm trying to update the Native SDK on an Ubuntu VM on Windows 7. The update fails even if I try the different options:

Help>Install New Software ; Help>Update Native SDKs ; Update Native SDK button.

It always reaches the part where it is downloading bbndk.linux.libraries.10.0.9.2318.tar.gz and times out. Here is the error:

Do note that the download stops at different points while downloading.

I updated the .ini file to include

-Dorg.eclipse.ecf.provider.filetransfer.retrieve.readTimeout=60000

I can download the files through the browser, so it is not a connection issue.

Any clues?
