What kind of SQL database uses BlackBerry 10? It seems it is not SQLite. The docs (https://developer.blackberry.com/cascades/documentation/device_platform/data_access/working_with_sql... are not very helpful about anything more than a trivial example and I would like to know what is possible regarding data types and DDL. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure why you say "it seems it is not SQLite". I'm fairly sure it actually is.

It's SQLite, Cascades offer own interface to access DB, but you can use standard QtSql module too.

Well ... "VARCHAR(50)" ... as used in example let me think of something else than SQLite.

SQLite does support VARCHAR and many other things, even if they're not (as you probably knew) that widely used in SQLite work. See http://www.sqlite.org/datatype3.html#affinity and the section 2.2 Affinity Name Examples.
