Signing with BlackBerry ID

Hi,

I just reinstalled the OS and so had to do the fresh installation of BB momentics and ndk.

Now I'm using BlackBerry ID to sign the apps but my previous app needs to be signed with the old signing keys otherwise the new upgrade will appear to be a new standalone app and not the extension of the current app.

I got the error while uploading the upgade to BW that says that the package ID is not the same. After googling I learnt that the app needs to be signed with the same old keys If the there had to be any upgade to the current app.

I'm not sure how to resolve this. Any help would highly be appreciated.

P.S: I've the barsigner.csk, barsigner.db and auther.p12 files saved.

Re: Signing with BlackBerry ID

Did you switch to using the new online keys?

If so going through the set up again and entering your passwords should be suffcient.

Re: Signing with BlackBerry ID

Hi Spacena,

For a detailed step by step description on how to link your existing keys to your BlackBerry ID account, please visit this blog post by Mark Sohm: http://devblog.blackberry.com/2013/08/code-signing-keys-be-gone-welcome-blackberry-id/

Once you have linked your signing keys to your BBID account, setup your IDE for signing using the new signing files (bbidtoken.csk and author.p12) and you should be able to use your IDE to sign your app under the same author information.

Re: Signing with BlackBerry ID

You need to connect your old keys to your BBID, if you haven't done that. Follow the steps listed here: http://devblog.blackberry.com/2013/08/code-signing-keys-be-gone-welcome-blackberry-id/

Re: Signing with BlackBerry ID

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the help. I followed what was given on the link but after running the command in cmd console I got the error:

"Error: Illegal option: -linkcsk"

Any idea what's the issue ?

Re: Signing with BlackBerry ID

Are you using the latest 10.2 NDK, make sure your path is accessing those tools.

Re: Signing with BlackBerry ID

i go into signing in preferences in the ndk to setup old keys if you have a backup that would work fine i think the csk expires after use once but the backup zip doesnt it seems

Re: Signing with BlackBerry ID

I'd recommend actually typing out the command, occasionally browser can conver the the dashes (-) into a slightly different character, which breaks things. Put quotes around things with spaces in them as well.
