SwipeDown event firing on press on BB10

The SwipeDown event doesn't fire after a bezel swipe action for me on BB10, it fires as soon as I press near the top of the top bezel. I am porting a menu from our PlayBook app and need this event since it is a custom implemented menu.

Code:

Application::instance()->setMenuEnabled(false);

connect(Application::instance(), SIGNAL( swipeDown() ), this, SLOT( swipeDown() ));

or

onCreationCompleted: {
Application.swipeDown.connect(uiSwipeDown);
}

It doesn't matter which of these methods I use, the result is always the same. The event fires immediately.

The event works perfectly on PlayBook (which has a slightly different implementation)

Any help or information is greatly appreciated.

Re: SwipeDown event firing on press on BB10

Another Thing is try...might be a typo in the code should be Application.swipeDown.connect(onSwipeDown);

**********************************************************************
onCreationCompleted: {
Application.swipeDown.connect(onSwipeDown);
}

Take a look at this Documentation :

Re: SwipeDown event firing on press on BB10

the onSwipeDown and uiSwipeDown is just a reference to a custom ecmascript function in the QML which can be named anything.

The trouble isn't with the connection of the event to a function, but that the event fires under the wrong circumstances. Basically it acts pretty much exactly like the swipestart event.

This could actually be highlighted:

It seems like the SwipeDown event on BB10 behaves exactly like the SwipeStart event on PlayBook (and BB10).

Thanks for the suggestion though, I'll take any help I can get.
