Dear developer community,
I've been looking into toggling bluetooth, NFC and WiFi on/off, like many geo fencing apps do. I've noticed it's possible to turn WiFi On, but not off. Can you verify this?
I guess that is a choice made due to possible security threats or what do you think is behind it? I tried to find a feature request in Jira, but couldn't find anything. Do you know if BlackBerry has answerd this request before or if there is some kind of statement? Otherwise I'll just make the Jira Request myself and see what they say.
It could be a new permission, to turn wifi on and off, so you'd have control over what the app is doing to your phone, but it really is a very useful function in my opinion.

I'm no developer but I've spoken to a couple of devs and I can confirm for you that it is not possible to turn Wi-Fi off in a BB10 app. Legacy devices allowed it but it's no longer possible with BB10.

I think I'll open up a Jira request ticket, as I haven't found any yet. I'll post it here so you can back it as soon as it's up

I'm also looking for a API call to turn wirfi off ... so, let us know, if there is any reaction on "issue tracker" entry
