UI development using native language(C/C++)

Hi,

I explore BB10 from last 2 days and study  how we can do programming in C/C++ using BPS. But i did not find any documentation of how to develop UI using the QNX native development? i only find dialog.h in the UI. I find my framework in the documentation but did not find how to use each framework? Is there any documentation which give sample of each framework BB10 native is supproted.

I am very  interested in native development but i did not find any sample or any proper help on this. I do find framework which native is supported using this link but how we can utilize this in our application is not mentioned:

URL : https://developer.blackberry.com/native/beta/documentation

So please help me on this regards,

Thanks.

The native UI framework is still in development. You can find Beta documentation here: https://bdsc.webapps.blackberry.com/cascades/

Re: UI development using native language(C/C++)

That means we can create UI using cascades and backend related functionality using the BPS and Native api

Until Cascades is released, you may want to look at the PlayBook port of Qt.

Re: UI development using native language(C/C++)

I think I'm confused by what you're asking exactly.

Cascades has been released in the BB10 NDK, and is available for you to develop apps using it. However, they will not work on the PlayBook. For now, the only device they will work on is the Dev Alpha and the Dev Alpha simulator. When BlackBerry 10 is released, it will work on those devices. Furthermore, once BlackBerry 10 is ported to the PlayBook, it will then work there. None of this is happening until the fall of this year.

Until any of that happens, if you want to develop an app using the Native SDK for deployment on PlayBooks today, you should try using the Qt UI toolkit. Cascades is built upon Qt, so your application should port to BB10 fairly easily.

Does that help you understand?
