Any idea when the update to the playbook 2.1 simulator will be release?

I'd imagine sometime after BB OS 10 'roll out' has finished, but as i understand it .. playbook OS 2.1 is the last in this line as the Playbook is to get BB OS 10 next (which is based on Playbook OS 2.0) confused? .. not much ![]()
it's fairly weird but Rim based Playbook OS on QNX linux (Rimux as my friend calls it) this then was used as a baseline for bb os 10 then the developments from bb os 10 will be backported to playbook again (including cascades)
this is my understanding of it - obviously i'm not exactly an expert ![]()

An updated PlayBook 2.1 simulator that supports VMWare Player 5.0 will be release very soon.
BlackBerry 10 for PlayBook will appear after BlackBerry 10 Smartphone launch.

Anybody knows what is it? Is it like a boot protocol or something? If yes, it takes a long time to execute! ;P

Mark:
I had the 10 simulator running with 5.0.0 build-812388, until tonight...
Now when I try to start it I just get a black screen.
I uninstalled the simulator then reinstalled it, but no joy.
Any suggestions?

Care to share how you solved it. I think I'm in the same state now...black screen of death...

Have you tried to use safe mode? Were the results the same (black screen)?
It's also possible that the simulator has just put the device to sleep. Did you try to swipe from one edge to another (top to bottom or left to right)?
