Video modes are:

 

front camera:

supported video resolutions:
720 x 1280
576 x 1024
480 x 848
720 x 720
480 x 640
352 x 640
288 x 512
352 x 352
240 x 320
144 x 176
120 x 160
640 x 352

rear camera:

supported video resolutions:
1080 x 1920
720 x 1280
576 x 1024
480 x 848
720 x 720
480 x 640
352 x 640
288 x 512
352 x 352
240 x 320
144 x 176
120 x 160
640 x 352

 

However, you should still always be querying these things.. it's possible they could change in a different release, or on different devices, etc.

For what it's worth, I am publishing a best-practises camera app this week for Jam Asia which shows how to do all of this stuff with the C camera API in cascades.

 

 

As to why we are not using the full 3264 size of the sensor in 16:9 on Z30, I have fired off an inquiry to the folks responsible for that device...

so the story is that the hardware driving the camera on the Z30 apparently requires the resolution to be a multiple of 16.

 

at 3264 x 1836, 1836 is not divisible by 16, so they had to scale down 6% in both directions.  I will make it a point to see if we can improve this in the future.

I've got two images taken with a Z30

 

Dimensions are 3072 x 1728 and 3264 x 2448
