i adviced the same trick u gave me to my boss...

however, the problem is...what if 2 different blackberry apps generate same guid?

small chance eh? but possible..

AFAIK the chance is negligible. I haven't investigated how Qt generates them, but usually guid contains info such as network card mac address to make it even less likely to intersect with other guids, plus some random part. Also it's very big (128 bits).

how come in webworks, there exists a method to get uuid?
but in native it doesnt?

You can try using deviceinfo_get_dentifying_data() which will give you PIN and Serial Number that is more than enough to uniaquely identify a device.
