loadEffect for ImageView or disable implicit animation

[ Edited ]

Hi,

Documentation lists a property loadEffect for ImageView. But whenever I try to use it Momentics gives error, ImageView does not have member setLoadEffect (in C++) or unknown property (in QML). Was it removed or not introduced yet? How can I remove animation that constantly applied to ImageView when a method setImage is called? Thanks

Re: loadEffect for ImageView or disable implicit animation

Have you updated to the Beta 4 SDK (the latest, just released)?

If you have, then this is probably another item which, though documented, isn't actually implemented properly for us. We've found a few so far.

If that may be the case, check the headers (.h) in the NDK and see if that item is defined and defined properly. If it's not file a bug report in Jira...

Re: loadEffect for ImageView or disable implicit animation

peter9477, Yes, I've recently updated to Beta 4 SDK. I've checked the .h file of ImageView class and indeed the property (loadEffect) and the method (setLoadEffect) both are missed :smileyhappy: It's hard to say whether it's still not implemented or was removed and documentation was not updated to reflect the changes. Can someone with Beta 3 SDK may check if ImageView class has setLoadEffect method?

Re: loadEffect for ImageView or disable implicit animation

Also I found that ImplicitAnimationController doesn't work at all. I tried to use it both ways, without specifying the property name and specifying each property separately. Effect is zero for any control. Did it work in Beta 3 SDK?

Re: loadEffect for ImageView or disable implicit animation

The beta 3 headers don't mention any "setLoadEffect".

Re: loadEffect for ImageView or disable implicit animation

peter9477, hmm, so Beta 3 and Beta 4 both do not have this method while documentation lists it. Should I file a bug or it's better to wait for Gold SDK?

Re: loadEffect for ImageView or disable implicit animation

I'd advise filing a bug, as they want to get as many things fixed for Gold as possible.

When you do file, make sure to edit your profile (click on username for the little dropdown, then select profile) and find near the bottom left of the next page a link that says Configure Reporter Issue Preferences. Click it and change the setting to "public" or none of us will be able to see your issue.

When you do file it, post a link here so people can vote and follow up on it later.

I've got a couple of dozen other bugs to file at this point... I'd better get to it.

Re: loadEffect for ImageView or disable implicit animation

Ok, filed two bugs:

for not working ImplicitAnimationController: https://www.blackberry.com/jira/browse/BBTEN-475

for missing property/method: https://www.blackberry.com/jira/browse/BBTEN-478

Re: loadEffect for ImageView or disable implicit animation

Looks like those tickets aren't public, unfortunately.

In theory, if you'd changed your "reporter issue preferences" and when adding each ticket didn't mark the checkbox that says something like "contains confidential data", then they would have been public. As it is, we can't see them. :-(

If you'd like them to be public, please add a note to each one requesting that an admin change them. That may not happen quickly but then eventually others outside of RIM will be able to view them.

Re: loadEffect for ImageView or disable implicit animation

peter9477, Ah, sorry I made a mistake. I was looking for that option in my profile, but it seem to located in bug report filing. I asked them to change the bug status to public.

Also they just rejected the bug about non-working ImplicitAnimationController. I'm trying to re-enable investigation as it's a real major bug that prevents from doing any useful Cascades app that require image manipulation.
