NDK for linux has been downloaded and installed;
(I think only the CLI tools are mandatory, but hope they come with the momentics stuff (I will not use a lot).
I've begun to remove some uneeded packages with the ubuntu UI (games, office & co...), and i think I've screewed the terminal app ! (it does not appear anymore in the desktop menu and all I can easily find is xterm)
So, I'm being hunting for a greater terminal than xterm (where control C et al are accepted, and which do not rely on 3 mouse button à la X11);
anyone has a great terminal app to propose ?
Tks.

xubuntu had the crazy idea of updating itself, 270+ files download,
I did not suspect he could have difficulties with that.
Alas, I was too confident ! That fool screwed itself and after reboot could not give me control anymore !
I an forced to uninstall xubuntu.
I now am trying to install kubuntu and hope it will be more stable and usable.
what an adventure just to be able to follow a basic tuto......

Looks like you like adventures -)
xubuntu... kubuntu... screw that! Just try normal Ubuntu 11 and be happy -)))

normal ubuntu does not want to install at all (mysterious permission error), i had no choice but try one of the other choices,
now ended in my second install of xubuntu which managed to get thru all its updates ok.
being downloading again ndk while also installing Qt ...

WOW!!! Man you are having allot of grief!
My experience with linux has been the opposite, I started with Ubuntu and have now moved over to Fedora16 with the Gnome3 desktop, stable, fast and efficient IMO!
My recent linux experiences compared to my years of windoze experiences.....Well lest just say windoze is out of my life now... ![]()
Cheers,
Jon

if it fails again we can communicate off-line on what 'permission' error you are having.
As Jon I've been having nothing but good experience with Linux over many years.
