8703e Password Disable ?

Hello All,

I Am New To The Blackberry World, I Bought A 8703e Off Ebay With a Damaged Lense, For $3.50, Bought A New Lense For $2.85 And Installed It ad Verizon Activate It And It Works Great, My Problem Is There Is No Way To Disable the Password function, I Use It For Personal Use And It Is Not On Any Corprate Server. Is there Any Way To Disable This Mode.

Re: 8703e Password Disable ?

It might have been that the previous owner had the device connected to a corporate BlackBerry server. If you go to Options > Security Options > General Settings, scroll down and see if any IT policies or Services are listed. If there are, that means an IT policy is still on the device. And it probably required a password be set.

There is a way to remove the IT policies by following the steps here: Remove IT Policy

Re: 8703e Password Disable ?

if its the pasword set by IT policy ( you can chk it under OPTIONS>Security options> general settings and on that screen you will see it policy name) this can be reset using the resolution in folowing link:

Surely this is possible. Go to Options -> Security Options -> General Settings -> under Password: select Disable. You'll be asked to enter present password. It will be done.

If there is a previous IT policy on the device that locked this option the user won't be able to change this option until the IT Policy is removed.
