I have bought an unlocked 8830, i am using it on Airtel GSM network in India. everything is great so far. but only problem is "My Number" shows on dial screen is different with my current sim card number. 

I have edit my phone number 2564530784 under options- advanced options- simcard, but still make no difference. my number still shows 2058760583 ( is it a CDMA number come with the phone in its origin?)

Anybody can help?

This issue happened to me as well. I don't know how to get change it, however i selected not to show "My Number" from Phone Options>General Options menu. Not your solution, but i hope it helps.

dial ##000000 then press the green key. This will open a menu where you can change your number.
