BB8830 address book

I categorize my address books along 2 broad categories: business and personal.  I would like to be able to bring up either of these groups but not both.  Though I go to Filter and from there select either of the 2 groups, I only receive the note " * No Addresses *

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the forums!

Just to check, when you input or edit a name you hit the menu key within that contact and select category business or personal?

Let me know!

You have to go through each one of your contacts and edit them, as to which catergory they are in (business or personal).  Then when you use the filter option those corresponding contacts will appear.  You can also create your own categories to suite your needs.

Re: BB8830 address book

Well, duh on me.

I was grouping the contacts in the "company" filed rather than under "category".

Thanks for the tip!!!

Re: BB8830 address book

Open your address book

Hit the menu key (left 0f trackball)

Choose filter

This will open up the catergories

Hit menu key again and choose new

Name your new catergory

Add your contacts to this category (edit each on to put in the category you want)

Your off and running!

Let us know if it works.....

Re: BB8830 address book

ejbb,

If this resolves your incident please close it by using the options over the yellow kudos. Since you originated it you are the only one that can close it. That way other users will find resolutions easier!

Glad you got it going.

Thanks,

Bifocals

Re: BB8830 address book

Is there a way to addresses on your computer and not have to enter all of them on the tiny blackberry keyboard.  Just got this weekend and can not figure it out.

Thanks for any help!
