Blackberry Bridge compatibility

I tried to bridge my friend's BB 8830 to my Playbook, but when I tried to download the bridge app, BB App World says it is not available for that phone or carrier.  Since we are on the same carrier, I am assuming this means the 8830 is not compatible with BB Bridge.  Is that true?

Re: Blackberry Bridge compatibility

As you would notice in AppWorld, the Bridge app requires OS 5.0 or higher, and mostly likely your 8830 is at OS4.5, you can check to see at Options > About on the device.

Re: Blackberry Bridge compatibility

Hi, my 9300 has version v6.0.0.448 and I get not compatible message.  Any insight?

Fixing to return the playbook, since it can't be bridged.

Re: Blackberry Bridge compatibility

Yes, 6.0.0.448 is compatible for the device operating system on the 9300

However, your Bridge app might not be up to date.

Re: Blackberry Bridge compatibility

Any chance you're on a corporate BES account?

or is this a personal BlackBerry device?

I have 9300. It is personal phone. I checked it, and software is up to date. I will try again to install it shortly.
