I could not find any previous posts on this topic but does anyone know if RIM is planning on a firmware upgrade to allow 8830 CDMA phones to take advantage of EVDO RevA speeds? A lengthy call to VZW seemed to indicate that the radio hardware is capable but not enabled via firmware. Knowing that CDMA holders are normally last in line, is this true, and/or are there any plans to produce an upgrade? or am I going to wait for Niagra or Thunder?
